GROWTH

Alvin ISD is projected to add 1,420 elementary students in the next five years and 2,822 in next ten years. This growth would put seven elementary campuses at or over capacity within the next five years and eleven campuses at or over capacity within the next ten years.

In studying this projected growth, the Citizen's Advisory Committee recommended that the District open two new elementary schools in the next five years. The construction of these two new campuses, Elementary #21 planned to open in 2020 and Elementary #22 planned to open in 2023, are included in the bond proposal.

Multiple secondary campuses will exceed capacity in the next one to two years with continued growth expected. The District is projected to grow by 1,990 junior high and 2,500 high school students in the next five years, and 2,730 junior high and 4,735 high school students in next ten years. This enrollment growth would put five junior high schools and two high schools at or over capacity within the next three years.

The Citizen's Advisory Committee recommended that the District open two new junior high schools and one new high school in the next five years. The construction of these new campuses, Junior High School #8 planned to open in 2020, Junior High School #9 planned to open in 2023, and High School #4 planned to open in 2021, are included in the bond proposal.
